the story of MAP coaching

The MAP Method was developed by Colette Streicher in the USA. Colette was already a successful family therapist and success coach, and was already enjoying success with her clients using techniques adapted from the most cutting-edge therapies such as Quantum techniques, EFT, BodyTalk, and Resonance Re-patterning, when she came across Dr. Gary Flint’s Process Healing Method.

Colette began studying his work and eventually asked for his mentorship, to which he agreed. Colette then combined his process with ideas from another healing process called bio-decoding. She knew she had found what she had been looking for: “an easy, fast and effective way to find and neutralise unconscious negative beliefs, memories and emotions.”

About Dr Flint:

Dr. Garry A. Flint was a psychologist with over 40 years of clinical experience. He has treated issues in the quantum fields for the last 15 years and is the author of:

  • A Theory and Treatment of Your Personality: A Manual for Change

  • A Healing Legend: Wisdom From The Four Directions (co-authored with Jo C. Willems)

  • Healing Your Mind and Soul: Therapeutic Interventions in Quantum Reality

His work included extensive training in hypnosis and Neurolinguistic Programming, Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Thought Field Therapy, Tapas Acupressure Technique and eventually Emotional Freedom Technique. Through his work he found that the subconscious could treat emotional issues as the subconscious was able to learn the treatment method.

He developed a theory of the personality that explained mental issues as memory structures. It turned out that the subconscious could be an ally in problem solving and as well as treating issues. This permitted the direct and painless treatment of beliefs, emotions, painful history and emotional or auditory intrusions.

Dr. Flint lived in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, where he was a practicing clinical psychologist before his retirement in 2012. He passed on in April 2021, while his legacy lives on through MAP Institute and its students and coaches.

MAP Method Frequently Asked Questions

What is a first session like?

Prior to your first session, you will receive a 15-minute video which will begin teaching your brain. Your first session begins with another short training for your brain. This is done using metaphors as the brain understands pictures the best.

What does a general MAP session look or feel like?

You start by bringing up in your mind the issue you’d like to address. The practitioner gives instructions to your brain to find and heal associated memories as you relax. As this is usually subconscious, you may not be aware of what’s happening. After a few minutes, you will report the progress of what has changed for you.

Does the session work over video call?

Absolutely! A MAP Method practitioner does not require you to be in the same room as them, as they are trained to find the correct commands by using their observational skills.

The MAP Method allows people to connect from all over the world, and from the comfort of their homes or workplace and in the time that suits them.

What happens after a MAP Method session?

Drink plenty of water, eat lightly and rest well. You will have released emotions, memories or other parts that were stopping you from living your full life. Rejoice - you are another step closer to your full potential!
